I'd love to help you but I can't view the page you linked. You can't link to your shopping cart because it's on Newegg's secure site. Theres a way to link wish lists but I don't remember how, otherwise you can just link the items individually.

Here are the units on the list I have above. If the links don't work the items are all on Newegg.com. The copy and pasted text is exact from the newegg site. So any suggestions and is everything here compatible??
Thanks and all suggestions given are appreciated.

well i know without even clicking on any links that you don't need a network adapter

Monk

Ok to start off with, that is an excellent find on the processor... 60 bucks for a 2.7ghz dual core. Also a nice choice of RAM and it looks like a good hard drive. As Chizz stated you shouldn't need a network adapter.

Moving onto your choice in Video Card. Generally when I'm looking around on newegg, I look for the type of item i'm looking for, narrow my search down to a more specific area (i.e intel vs amd or nvidia vs ati) and then I click on the button that says "Top Sellers." Usually the items that are listed as top sellers are there for a reason, and they usually have good ratings. The video card you posted seems to have pretty low review ratings and after browsing around I found a few that seemed to be around the same price but had better reviews. Heres #1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130425) Number 2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130424) Number 3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127382). Those are all well priced and have good ratings and reviews. One thing I would recommend with video cards is looking at brand names. Gigabyte is more of a motherboard manufacturer (and they make those motherboards well) where as EVGA or XFX are focused more on Video Cards. From my personal experience getting something from a company whose main focus is what you're looking for produces better quality.

Moving on to the motherboard. I don't really see any problems with this except I will give you a small caveat. You get what you pay for with motherboards, and while this one would work for the system I would recommend spending a little more money on it. This is the heart of your system, everything runs off of it and you do not want it to break or have problems. It is worth a little extra money to get a good quality motherboard. And also (this is my personal preference) I would try to find one that doesn't include on-board video if you're planning to buy a video card.

Hope this helps, I would look around at some other motherboards. And as I said you don't want to skimp on it, but don't go out and buy something that's unnecessarily good for the system you're buying (i.e SLI/Crossfire enabled, you only need that if you ever plan to use 2 video cards)

Sorry for the book. (and if anyone thinks that I've stated something incorrect let me know... its really late)

Edit: everything in the build you listed looks to be compatible, and also the power supply should be fine, and you most likely wont need any more fans.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the three links you posted and chose the second one (vid card) and replaced the one I had before with it. Now onto the mobo. If you can find one that is a little better than the one I chose it will be greatly appreciated. I got rid of the network adapter card. At first I didn't know/realize that the mobo came with it already onboard. So all that if left is finding a better mobo. If you find a better one that's compatible just let me know. I'll look around too. Also on the CD/Dvd Drives do they need to be SATA. Because the dvd drive i picked at first was IDE and the cd drive i picked is out of stock now so i had to pick a similar and new one. So do they both need to be SATA or does it not matter or is it just better to pick SATA. thanks.

I just skimmed your post, but the set up is similar to mine:

AMD 5000+
BFG 9600GT OC
2GB of Crucial Ram (2GB more in the mail :P)

As for the question about the powersupply it will be fine, Im currently running mine on a 300W no namer :(

Hey sounds good jloeb. Yeah it should be a good system once I am done researching and ready to order. I am researching as much as I can before Friday because I returned some stuff I bought from Bestbuy and they don't give you your money back on the spot, they mail it to you and they said i should have it by friday at the latest (screw that). So once I get the money from them I will have plenty in my pocket to buy the system.

heres a couple motherboards that seem to be a good buy. Number 1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131362) Number 2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128381) Number 3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128376)

As far as your CD Drives, most motherboards come with the old IDE pin slots on them, but I'm not sure how many. I would just go with the SATA ones, they're pretty cheap and you wont have to worry about running out of SATA ports.

Also, if you have never built a computer before heres some excellent links for tutorials on how to do it. Text Guide (http://www.mechbgon.com/build/index.html) Video Guide (http://computershopper.com/videos/help-how-to-videos/how-to-build-a-fast-pc-for-under-1-000) I would definitly check out both of those sites, as they both have some excellent information. The Text Guide gets very in depth and in some places overcomplicates things (as far as I'm concerned) but both guides are definitly a good place to start.

I used to be an AMD user and there processors are 100% junk. I was always about AMD untill i switched to intel. Theres no comparison, infact i just upgraded from my e8400 to a i7 920!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116072

id recommend this cpu, its a slower clock, but its ocable, with a faster cache + core2duo>>64 bit AMD's. my old amd was 2.5 and css ran TERRIBLE all games for that matter. 200mhz will make no diff considering i ocd my 2.5 to 3.0 and got nothing. as for mobos they get a bit more pricey.. but they support a much better cpu in my opinion. I am going from personal experiance, all I used to be about was AMD, but AMD lost my love for their cpus after my 4800 :( They have however redeemed themselves with there sexy new 940/920 chipsets and the "dragon" platform with 4x series cards.

I would however recommend this board, and scrap that network adapter. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359

your ram was a good choice, however this is the better buy.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166

as for the video card, I am an nvidia fan myself and always will be, but someone like you thats building a budget system the quality for the price is what matters. id say go for this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131129
now nvidia over prices their cards ALOT, the 4830 out performs a 8800gt which is pretty much a 9800gt, which spanks a 9600. The price is unbeatable, you will get amazing performance with this card it does out perform a 9800gt, which I double checked for you. and the 9800gt's are going for 130+!

as for the PSU with the case, look into the psu. Dont want a cheap brand psu or a micky mouse brand, got for a decent 50 dollar psu if thats the case, I doubt it would be terrible though. Btw that case is so l337. it folds down for EASY assembly <3 that shit.

The system that I have directed towards u will pretty much run ANY modern day game, even crysis. Not on maximum quality's. This is no enthusiast system, but it certainly gets er done!

One thing I might recommend is getting and SLI ready Mobo, and SLI ready power supply. Two 9600GTs in SLI is great, and if you get them are the right price its amazing. I got my 9600GT on sale/rebate for $60.00 CDN.. so like $50.00 american. You get two of those for around $100 bucks and it will be very nice.. but you would need to wait for a sweet sale :P

Thats a full rig. 506.93 before taxes/shipping. I would highly recommend you caugh up a bit extra cash for maybe a better cpu, such as the e8400 which scales next to any qc on the market really. i7's only show their work on the new x58 boards and SLI. maybe a bit better board and video card, probably closer to $1000 dollars, but it would be a beast of a machine. For instance, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161269 this card is a beast, so comparable to a gtx 280 and 100 dollars more than the one I have selected for you.

and why?
all the old x4s are JUNK 100% garbage. No offense its your money spent not mine, but it would be a cold day in hell before i ever invested in an amd product other than their 920/940 because those are just sexy.

I research stuff before I post it. An E8400 scales amazingly, like honestly they wont need an upgrade for awhile. In other news amd is releasing its new ATI card which is suppost to perform better than a 4830 and possibly right near a 4850 for under 100 usd. Id say its worth the wait. Save up for an amd 940 and get a 790 board and run dragon! the 940 truly is an amazing processor for the price http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-phenom-ii-x4-920-and-940-review-test/ read that review and tell me its not worth the extra money? it almost has equal processing power to a qx9770 which is a 1300usd processor. Top of the line for the right price. You dont always have to rush things :) good things happen in time. I mean im an enthusiast when it comes to computers, I simply love getting new parts, I went from a e8400, 750isli ftw board, ocz reapper 1066 (4gigs), a sexy heat sync and a 700w psu to what I have in my sig. Canadian wise these parts are worth 800 dollars. The new stuff ive upgraded to=over 1500 dollars =/ Even though im an intel guy I can admit amd is doing great things for great prices and dragon platforms pwn. You should save those pennies and get something you truly can admire.
