Hello!

I am experiencing a slightly issue with an onboard/integrated sound driver (Realtek High Definition Audio). I am trying to increase the sample rate from:

24 bit, 48000 Hz -> 24 bit, 192000 Hz.

This change does not restrict sound from being played, but when in Windows Media Player (WMP), an error incurs. After of which, I am unable to play anything in WMP, though again Windows sound and the internal sound test still outputs sound.

"Media foundation protected pipeline EXE has stopped working."

24 bit, 48000 Hz -> 24 bit, 96000 Hz.

The above change works, but for my interest, I wish to use the higher sound quality if possible without complications. I am also wondering what difference will I hear (if any) from the different sound sampling rates, and whether or not it impacts system performance that does not have a dedicated sound card (pure drivers).

Notably, I discovered this option in a recent sound driver update due to horrific sound lags and stutters, along with lag itself that seems to be connected to audio. Another question of mine is that my microphone seems to have stopped working--I have not had the time to go through the drivers/etc. though everything seems to be how I left it before the update, which mind you was functioning properly.

Microphone, Line In, DigitalIn are enabled. Microphone is the default device. The microphone is plugged in correctly, into the appropriate slot. CD Player, and Stereo Mix is disabled.

I can provide more information if needed tomorrow. This one apologizes for hastily posting this without intricate investigation first: I am hoping this is one question that can be answered without much complexity. As a bonus question, are there any other real-time audio-enhancement software for computers with or without sound cards? I have not noticed any, however... Perhaps some of you know some? Of course you all know where all the authorities going after pirates are kept at bay. Thanks again--only the coLCom can speedily answer universal questions!
