Hello folks!
Some of you might remember the indie classic "Savage: The Battle for Newerth", also known these days as "Savage XR" (savage restoration project). Savage XR is a unique game designed for competitive play, combining the genres RTS, FPS and Hack & Slash into a multiplayer-only game. Even after almost 8 years Savage still got an active competitive scene (team based and 1vs1).
Gameplay description:
Savage is a post-apocalyptic Real Time Strategy Shooter (RTSS) combining the computer game genres FPS, RTS and minor aspects of RPG into an online-only multiplayer game. As the commander in RTS mode, you will tackle resource management, develop a tech tree, plan tactical and strategic assaults and lead a team of up to 64 human players into battle. As a unit in action mode, you will master melee combat, many unique weapons, powerful units, and siege vehicles to fight a fast-paced battle. The aim of the game is to destroy the opponent's command structure.
PUG Cup:
Newerth.com is excited to announce a new PUG Cup tourney. This friendly, off-season competition will allow players to get a fresh feel for competitive play alongside new teammates, free from strict clan duty.
Competitors have until Thursday, June 2nd to sign up here: http://www.newerth.com/smf/index.php/topic,13347.0.html.
Random teams will then be created, each with roughly 12 players. This will be repeated twice, and all 3 line-ups will be posted as options in a poll. The draft that the community votes for as the most balanced will give us the final teams. They will compete in a single elimination tournament, fighting for the winners' glory! Don't be afraid if you're less experienced or rusty at the game. Anyone who got time to play weekly matches can join up!
The game is unique and freeware.
