Hey guys back from MLG
This being the first MLG I've gone to I have to say it lives up to the hype people give it. The hotel where it was being held was incredible, and the atmosphere was great. I went with fellow zerg and academy member Goswser who was great company, and I'm sure most of you have heard about his run. The way the brackets are done is less then enjoyable. First they never show the full brackets or when you play, you must check back at a overly crowded desk to see if your names on a list of players who play in one hour. I lost in winners round 4 to VileState(Protoss) after winning my first two series. I was less than satisfied with losing 2-0 even though State is a solid player and knocked me down to losers bracket. The next day I didn't get my first match till 3 pm that was an extended series with my first opponent who I previously beat 2-1. I went 2-3, before I refocused and finished it 4-3 winning my last two games. Knowing he was Protoss made me worry after my 2-0 defeat to VileState seeing it's my worst match up of the three. Following my streak of protoss nothing would be better than to get another strong North American protoss RANGE. I've had confidence issues with this match up for a long time, and now I have to win a third series at my first MLG. I lost the series 2-1 after winning the first match, The next two games were very long macro games that ended with me failing grab 1 win knocking me out of the tournament. I was very disappointed with myself going into MLG I knew my ZvP was a liability but I hoped for the best and got the worst all Protoss. But after going I now feel I have the drive I needed to push myself to the next level, I plan on going to MLG again and I will give my all to perform better at future events.
I'm grateful for the opportunity complexity gave me and I hope to get more in the future.
