Folks, my sincerely apology for the inconvenience!
It was really a setting in the forum software that prevented regular users from using IMG-Tags in the signature. Someone, i don't tell names (*cough* most likely aMies *cough*) disabled this a while ago. I have enabled it now and signatures should work for every registered member.
Sorry again and now have fun with the coL signatures.
