Col Demo Player not working

I recently reformatted, when I reinstalled the col demo player and tried to view a demo it opens cs for a second then it closes it out and returns me to my desktop. No error message or anything. It just closes the game. Anybody know whats wrong or how I can fix it?

Run "shell:Local AppData\compLexity Demo Player" and see if a sub folder named "logs" exists. If so, there should be some plain text files with .log extensions. Hopefully one of them will contain a useful error message.

If that doesn't work, try adding -condebug to your CS launch options. It dumps the contents of the console to a file named qconsole.log in "\Steam\steamapps\<user>\counter-strike".
