Update (9/2/09) - Gravitas Gaming has officially closed their doors.

According to various sources, Gravitas Gaming has dropped their CS 1.6 team. The news comes, even as the Gravitas CS team actively competes in various professional leagues and tournaments. Along with this shocking news, comes rumors that Gravitas Gaming will be shutting its doors in the near future, marking the end of one of North America's premier organizations.

Ediz "goodfornothing" Basol had this to say to compLexity Gaming:

We appreciate what gravitas did for us while we were their cs team and they were always true to their word. It just seems the ownership has come to a point in their lives where they want to move on so I respect their decision. We are gonna keep playing cs as a team though so in that respect nothing has changed.

That sucks.. I'm sure they''ll find an organization. I thought they had picked up Perez of Adrenaline? Anyways, only good organizations that seem legit left are x3o and Blight seems to be holding up. coL should pick up a second CS team! These guys are an extremely skilled group of guys.

3D should pick this squad because coL.cs has said it themselves this is their biggest rival, and what better news story and match than a rivalry rekindled in coL vs 3D.

EG is still our biggest rival, skill wise and every-other-wise.. I dont like how the teams are changing every other week.. Its not healthy.

nahh... you have to look at the players not just the names of the organizations.

Can you guys comprehend what I said? In an interview the coL.cs team talked about rivals and they said to them Gravitas is was the lineup that they got most fired up to play, so why not put the line-up with the historical rival of coL in 3D. EG isn't as much a rivalry to the players as it is to followers.

Gravitas is(was) a consistent top 3 team. What more could you ask
