Stalife vs sixjaxViBe – IGN Pro League

Post Game

Game 1: Xel’naga Caverns
Vibe opened up the game with a typical 15 Hatch fast expand, where as Stalife went with a very safe one Rax, one Fac, one Starport. While still only on Spawning Pool tech, Vibe built a third macro Hatch at his natural. This would prove to be a critical mistake as Stalife was massing up a Marine, Hellion, Medivac timing push. Before he had much of a defense up, Vibe was facing down a squad of marines in his natural’s mineral line with Hellions cleaning off any Zerglings. To make matters worse for ViBe, Stalife had switched tech and started to bring out cloaked Banshees forcing Vibe to GG.

Game 2: Shakuras Plateau
Vibe again opened with a fast expand and Stalife again pushed with Hellions. This time ViBe was prepared with several Roaches which made quick work of Stalife’s push. Stalife tried to get aggressive again, this time with a Marine Tank push, but ViBe had already gotten his Spire up so Mutas put an end to that. The game evolved into a half-map/half-map situation with Stalife establishing on outpost of Tanks and Bunkers in the middle. ViBe managed to break through thanks to a herd of Ultralisks and some crucial Fungal Growth placement. From then on Stalife was against the ropes. ViBe was able to sit back denying expansions while macroing hard. When the Brood Lords came into play, Stalife’s army stood no chance. After one last final push, which was quickly dispatched by a swarm of Zerglings, Stalife tapped out.

Game 3: Metalopolis
For the third game in a row ViBe opened with a fast expand and Stalife went with his Hellion push. Much like game two, ViBe had Roaches on the field and was able to clean up the Hellion push without any real damage to his economy. Stalife again followed up the Hellion aggression with some Banshee harass. Unfortunately for Stalife, Vibe was already on his way to Mutas. With out doing any damage to ViBe’s economy, Stalife was quickly slipping behind. To make matters worse for Stalife, ViBe’s Mutas were decimating his economy. After two more failed pushed, Stalife was forced to tap out.
